Echoes of Innovation
EERO, a company inspired by the legacy of Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen, sought a unique sound signature 🎶 and logo animation to complement their brand identity. The client's fond memories of Solari board sounds, reminiscent of the analog clatter as airport schedules updated, was a key influence in shaping the sound design.
Creative Solutions
Given the project’s quick turnaround, and without access to an authentic Solari board, David used what was available to him 🤓. Recording percussive “hits” with plastic coat hangers, creating a loop, then applying EQ and pitch shifting successfully replicated the iconic sound. The client was extremely pleased with the realism of the imitation.
To align with EERO's "back to the future" ethos—where innovation meets the simple pleasures of a bygone era—David combined both vintage and modern synthesizers. This fusion created a sound that not only echoes the past but also points toward the future, encapsulating the brand’s identity. The full impact of the project is yet to be seen, as the company is still in its pre-launch phase. ✈️
